This position is responsible for providing clerical support and customer service for both the municipal court and police department.  This position is a front counter office position where those who apply should expect to interact with citizens and staff on a daily basis both in-person and over the phone or via email.  Duties include handling cash, taking payments, answering phone calls and taking messages.  Support services provided by this position include general data entry for the police and court as well as operating the respective records management system.  The deputy court clerk is responsible for attending court proceeding and trial along with preparation and maintenance of legal documents.

 Prior experience is preferred.  Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License, high school diploma or equivalent GED. Must be able to manage multiple duties. Must maintain a neat and clean appearance.  Must have personal computer skills using Microsoft Office products.  Drug test and background check will be performed upon employment.

Starting salary ranges from $13.67 per hour ($14.08 per hour after satisfactory completion of six-month probationary period) to $15.39 per hour based on experience, along with health, dental, vision, life and retirement benefits.  Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
