The City of Emerson is currently accepting application for a full-time position:
Water Sewer Operator
This position performs general operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater plants including, but not limited to: monitors plant performance and makes adjustments as needed to maintain compliance with NPDES permits, performs various tests and records results to ensure compliance with NPDES permits, performs routine plant and equipment maintenance, and other duties associated with water and wastewater systems.
Successful candidates will be familiar with water and wastewater treatment facilities, be able to operate various hand and power tools, have experience in general maintenance, repair and construction, be knowledgeable of construction materials, procedures, tools and equipment as well as safety precautions, be able to follow oral and written instructions, be capable of working independent of others, be able to bend, stoop, walk on uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs. This job requires outdoor work in various climates including heat, cold, rain and snow. Must possess a valid Georgia drivers license, a high school diploma or equivalent GED and pass a pre employment drug screening. A full job description is available upon request.
Starting salary is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (dependent upon experience).
